Here we go again with a panel of expert judges from the fashion sector and with an exceptional cast of young designers. The selection process was long and demanding, as usual, but also more fruitful than ever before. We are ready to surprise you with talents from previously unexplored countries. This is one of MICAM strengths: seeking the right people at the right time, and this is also why Emerging Designers was created.

In today’s world, even a shoe needs an identity: it needs to know who it is, where it is going, who will wear it. This is, in my opinion, crucial to have an impact in the world of fashion. We are no longer following trends, or seasons, so we need to focus on the soul of the shoe.

Today what is important is being present on the market. But how do we do this, especially if the brand is young, for a new designer? Today we need to be very focused; it is totally useless to get lost in too many messages. It is important to be extremely precise, clearly recognizable, with a personal identity. I firmly believe that the good things of our system need to be preserved, protected and continued.

It is hard to capture the attention of audiences with a new fashion product, especially if it is from an emerging brand which cannot count on the support of a strong and recognizable label. Photography, but more in general, the image of a product, must impose some recognizable and narratively strong characteristics which in themselves can speak, communicate, transmit a message and a feeling.

I have been working in public relations and press offices with a special focus on researching new emerging designers. This research is based on many features such as style, recognizability, brand maturity, the perfect balance of design, creativity and innovation.

For fashion footwear to be current and even competitive in the present horizon, it must reflect not only quality and design but also a focus on more aware manufacturing is needed, a manufacturing process that limits waste, a process that may reuse discarded elements or vintage elements.
